And... Well, I did like the Twilight series of books.
BUT.
Robert Pattinson, screaming fangirls and the director of the Twilight movie screwed the whole thing over.
And now it SUCKS.

I'm re-reading the Green Glass Sea right now.
Cute book, it is.

I credit JK rowling for my reading ability but i hate her writing style myself. I think its funny people wave 200 page large print text books in my face thinking their smart and than i can slam them with a 700 page stephen king hardback.

I feel so out of place on these forums, but something I can relate to: Bewwwkss! [;

Ooh! Whenever my friend says something stupid (happens often). We yell "breaking dawn to your head!!" and then we find a copy (everyone at my school are reading the twilight series now) and we hit her in the head<3

actually, that was a fiarly hard read for me, i hated the original pride and predjudice, just the writing style was...bleh. Though i have to admit it was funny. Oh and for the love of god..STOP THE TALKING OF THE HORRIBLE FAN GIRL BOOK!

Yeah, I only got through a the first few chapters and gave up. It just.. Wasn't amusing.

What Shafer doesn't like Twilight? But it made the author a god! And Edward is lyke so dreamy. He makes Dracula look like a wimp. And Lestat, really, he is pathetic. After all, it is every girl's dream to be clumsy and have an overprotective, abusive boyfriend [/sarcasm]

Indeed. I read the books. They were page-turners, but overall very empty. I felt like I was being spoon-fed. I was like. "dude, i'm 18, i'm in AP english. I don't need you to dish out every single friggin detail." and then I saw the movie. It was a load of crap. I was like "oh damn. this will be popular because the book has sucked in the minds of the high school and middle school females. and it is terrible. WHERE IS MY MUSICAL SCORE. o.o" because there is no music half of the time when it is needed. Anyway, Myer's mindless drivel is astoundingly popular. I'm terrified when I think of books that will become popular years from now.
& yea, he does look really scary. The people that they cast for the movie are the worst cast I've ever seen.

Vincent {Was that his name? The bad guy that became a good guy?} Was african american... {Not being racist, of course. I'm anything but racist. But aren't vampires supposed to be really really pale, according to the book?}

Then the special effects were a joke. The scene where Edward's skin sparkles? Did theyy like, spread glitter glue all over his arms or something? Wtf?
And the jumping!... God. The director made the whole thing just wretched.

Horrid, horrid movie.

But I kind of liked the books... The plot is a total cliche` and the characters weren't very fun, but Stephanie Meyers wrote it just well enough to be entertaining.
