Your happiness should not be entirely dependent upon another person. If it is, you are not ready for a relationship. Why? because you have not learned who you are well enough to understand how to stand on your own feet if they have to go away for a bit.

depend on him for happiness...

Trust me, I've been there. When the times get tough, you can project your wants onto someone else. The relationship could be falling apart around you, but you don't know how to fix it and you won't get out of it either.
You don't want to get out of it because you don't want to be by yourself when the world is upside-down. But what you don't see is that the ties between you are fraying. If you cannot find a way to calm the storm around you and see the sunshine, then you will be unable to fix the relationship. Don't ask me if that makes sense, it's 12:26, my mind isn't working quite right. But I can tell you this. You are falling to pieces because you haven't been able to talk to someone that you allegedly love. Have you considered that he doesn't love you like he says he does?
