Night world series, since its the ONLY series of books I've read besides the 1980's encyclopedia set.

The overuse of sparkles in manga scares me too much.

    The Road by Cormac McCarthy
    Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte
    Foucault's Pendulum by Umberto Eco
The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien

Those are just a few of the wonderful books I would recommend.

The Legend of Rah and the Muggles.

@Icky, Are the Bronte sisters as good as people say?
I've been trying to get more into classics... Tried to read Pride and Prejudice...
The language, gahh, can't get through it /dumbass
But hey, I'm in 8th grade, I have time, right?..

I like reading adventure books and comic books.
    ..and textbooks.

Classics never did it for me. :c

I haven't read Jane Eyre. But I saw the new movie, it was excellent. I want to read it.
The symbolism and all sorts of deeper connections are really good in Wuthering Heights.
We read Wuthering Heights after Scarlet Letter. And that was the more difficult of the two language wise if I remember correctly.

The school district gave me Hard Times by Charles Dickens to read in 4th grade. I never managed to read it. In 9th grade, I tried reading Great Expectations. There is just something about Dickens that I can't read...

    Wow, you guys.
Most Honors/AP English people at my school almost ALWAYS hate the classics that they're forced to read...

Well, actually, it's just Shakespeare. And not just R & J.

I think she means read a real novel instead of a graphic one. Graphic novels offer nice artwork, but only dialog and onomatopoeia which may entertain you but it usually doesn't increase your knowledge.

That's not what I'm saying at all, Monsieur Fuzztard.

music vs. music = still music but different tastes

novel vs. manga = one takes significantly less brain power to get through than the other. Also, novels leave more to the imagination, which is what makes me love them so much~.
