So yeah, my friends and I, Matt and Branden, those faggots. Yeah. We play DFO together. Not a lot, but it's fun when the lazy assholes actually get around to playing with me.
Anyways, what I do when they aren't around is I grind by myself for moneh. That way I can buy these guys some extra gear and avatar pieces (this game's form of NX which is permanent, gives you bonus stats, and actually can be bought with in game gold) for my bros so they'll be stronger when they come back.
The issue? There's been a sudden rise in people's account info getting leaked and their accounts getting hacked. The victims always lose all of their gold, and sometimes their avatars and/or items, too. At the same time, the gold bots.
Yeah, you know those annoying things that spam LOLGOTOTHISSITESOWECANSELLYOUGOLDANDMAYBESTEALYOURACCOUNTWHILEWEREATITDERP 24/7? In light of the hacking wave rushing over the game, something interesting has been brought to my attention.
The gold bots are listing LOWER PRICES.
So, putting two and two together, I've come to the conclusion that the gold sellers just aren't making enough money by hacking through 156 end-game dungeon rooms on 12+ characters every day. They have to steal from people too.
I mean, no, it's not like what you're doing takes EFFORT or anything. Not like it'd mean anything if you profited off of others and their blood, sweat and tears to make their gold, just so your swarmy little organization makes a couple more dollars, right?
So, here's the kicker. Why am I bothering to rant about this? It's not like I've been hacked or anything, right?
Well, you are indeed right. I'm not the one who was hacked. It was my friend.
That account, which both he and I have put a few dozen hours into raising it up and making it good, had all of its avatars and gold stripped from it this morning. Or earlier, but I discovered it this morning. It's not a huge loss, maybe 1 or 2 million gold and, say, ~10 avatar pieces.
It just pisses me off, and I've realized no one's safe from others and their greed. Probably won't be long before any of you who might have a DFO account get hit. Maybe even me, or Branden.
Anyways, I'm going to get back to work. I've got a lot of grinding ahead of me in order to completely replace everything that Matt lost. Wish me luck, friends.
Also, Grace, now is definitely not a good time to start up DFO, if you were going to any time soon. I'll let you know when things settle down, and I'll talk to you tonight. Luff yu.
