In Pearl, I have a box of Gible that are genetically modified specially bred to be awesome. Of the batch of 30, only about 4 have the right genes stats. I have yet to train them.
I did the same thing with Shieldons because they are cute especially when they evolve. Bastiodons have that so-ugly-it-is-absolutely-adorable kind of cute. And beastly defense stats. Mostly it was for that awesome defense.
