    Cuz geckos are in Class Reptilia. (Under Domain Eukarya, Kingdom Animalia, Phylum Chordata)

    Well, geckos are reptiles.
    and reptiles have leathery skin which is different than an amphibian's skin. An amphibian has to do most of its gas exchange through it's skin, so it has thin skin. Water facilitates the gas exchange, so amphibians live near the water because they have to be constantly moist.
    Geckos are reptiles, the things in your pond are amphibians.
